Saint Mary's School launches Junior Thespian Troupe, part of the International Thespian Society

Media release: Saint Mary's School recently applied for and was granted a charter for a Junior Thespian Troupe and is now a member of the International Thespian Society (ITS).  The ITS is a theatre honor society, and student membership is earned based on a point system.

The first Saint Mary's inductees are eighth grade students: Forrest Flammer, Flynn Higgins, Ryan Mazur, Georgi McCauley, Mary Jo McCormick, Morgan Padgett, Drew Pickens and Julian Porto.  Troupe directors are Lynn Denson, language arts teacher, and Marti Miller, social studies and religion teacher.

The Saint Mary's School Drama Club is a middle school elective program.  Past performances include A Midsummer Night's Dream, Bruno the Bully, a student-written play called It's Greek to Me, and Romeo and Juliet: A Parody.  The club has also hosted two camps called Pandora's Box and Aesop's Fables.  This spring the Drama Club will be performing Macbeth.
