Rome's Mellow Mushroom: Mid-December opening? Weekend guide: football, fantastic forecast, fall events

Friday's Buzz:

-Can't wait for Mellow Mushroom? Neither can some job seekers: At least five people are anxious to hear when Mellow Mushroom will begin hiring for the restaurant coming to 238 Broad St.. Read their comments. The double M is a step closer after winning approval Monday from the Alcohol Control Commission to pour beer, wine and liquor. Two items to note from the ACC minutes: A mid-December opening is now presumed, not early December. Also, the first alcohol permit for this location--once to be home to Rome City Market--was granted in the fall of 2006. Four years later, there's finally a tenant. Click Minutes.

-Acts of Random Theatre brings interactive mystery The Malted Falcon to 333 this month: Dinner theater returns to 333 on Broad in October with the Acts of Random Theater's The Case of the Malted Falcon. The dinner and show cost $30 and a cash bar is available. Show dates are Oct. 22, 23 and 29-30 (Oct. 22 is sold out). For tickets, please call 706-346-2743.
