>First bites at Sundae's Sweet Shop: Now open next to Shane's at  RiverWalk, the shop is a nice quick stop for ice cream, fudge and the huge candy-by-the-pound rack. One scoop each of Extreme Mouse Tracks and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, in cups, came to $4.47 with tax. Clean, friendly and relaxed (the scooper was signing the "Freecreditreport.com" jingle between customers).

>Aug. 28 Groundbreaking set for Pine Ridge Apartments: Charles Williams REIC is planning a 10:30 a.m. groundbreaking ceremony for Pine Ridge Apartments at 64 Lyons Drive off Shorter Avenue in West Rome.  It is being called a "first-of-its-kind, multimillion-dollar project."
