Copeland in Columbus with Synovus' Project Optimus Resource Team: D. Copeland, who served as president and CEO of Citizens First Bank, has returned to Columbus to expand his duties as a member of the Project Optimus Resource Team of Synovus. The goal: "identify, develop and implement ideas that create efficiencies and generate new sources of revenue." Copeland's job: Focus on the "crisp implementation" of project over the next 12 to 24 months. Company executives praised Copeland for "a phenomenal job in leading the growth of the Rome bank." Angie Lewis is now president and CEO of Citizens First.
> Mohawk lowers per-share earnings by 13 to 19 cents: (From a media release) Mohawk Industries Inc. reports per-share earnings should be in the $1.23 to $1.26 range vs. previous reports of $1.36 to $1.45. Why? Slower sales. "The lower earnings expectation for the quarter is primarily due to the continuing decline in the U.S. residential market, slowing European demand and rapidly increasing raw material and energy costs."
