Weekend washout: Another 2 to 4 more inches possible.

-Flood watch in effect through Sunday 8 p.m.
-Rainfall total: Since midnight Wednesday: 2.33 inches at Rome Airport and 2.26 inches at Ag Station on Bells Ferry Rd.

Outlook: Periods of moderate to heavy rainfall especially this afternoon and evening may lead to additional flash flooding and river flooding. Rainfall amounts averaging between 1-2 inches can be expected north of Atlanta.

Looking ahead: Heavy rainfall is expected again on Sunday especially across North Georgia with an additional 1-2 inches of rain.

Weather forecast:
-Saturday: 90% rain chance, high of 80, low of 71.
-Sunday: 90% rain chance, high of 82, low of 72.
-Monday: 40% rain chance, high of 92, low of 69.

Local river update: So far, local rivers are well below flood stage, but that could change with more heavy rains.

July 6-7: Rome Braves vs. Asheville at State Mutual Stadium. Doubleheader on Saturday at 5 p.m. Sunday's game at 5 p.m. Postgame fireworks on Saturday.
-July 6: Floyd County Democrats will meet for monthly meeting at 9:30 a.m. at Pullen's meeting room, 10 W. 1st St.
-July 6: Fireworks in Cave Spring. It starts with barbecue in the Casey's parking lot at 3 p.m. with fireworks planned at 9:45 p.m.
-July 6: Summer Concert Series, Barnsley Gardens. 7-10 p.m. at the Tenth Tee. Performing: Scott Thompson and Peachtree Station as well as the Athens Horn Connection. Complimentary. Snacks, barbecue & beverages available a la carte.
