Rain to continue through weekend; Up to 2 more inches possible.

-Flash flood watch in effect until 8 p.m. Friday.

-Rainfall total: Since midnight Wednesday: 1.54 inches at Rome Airport and 1.73 inches at Ag Station on Bells Ferry Rd.

Looking ahead: Although rainfall may not be as widespread, there will still be periods of moderate to heavy rainfall in showers and thunderstorms through early next week. Northwest Georgia looks to see the best chances for this additional rainfall.

Weather forecast:
-Friday: 100% rain chance, high of 79, low of 70.
-Saturday: 80% rain chance, high of 80, low of 72.
-Sunday: 70% rain chance, high of 84, low of 71.

-New $10 million nursing home coming to Cedartown.

-Rome Fireworks moved to Oct. 26 Block Party. That will be a busy day in Greater Rome with the annual Chiaha Harvest Fair and Peach State Marching Festival at Barron Stadium already scheduled that day.

Weekend ahead:
-July 5: First Friday returns with Scott Thompson and Peachtree Station with special guests KneckDown. Activities start around 6 p.m. at Bridgepoint Plaza with the free concert beginning at 7 p.m.
-July 5-7: Rome Braves vs. Asheville at State Mutual Stadium. Friday's game starts at 7 p.m. Doubleheader on Saturday at 5 p.m. Sunday's game at 5 p.m. Postgame fireworks on Friday and Saturday.
-July 6: Floyd County Democrats will meet for monthly meeting at 9:30 a.m. at Pullen's meeting room, 10 W. 1st St.
-July 6: Fireworks in Cave Spring. It starts with barbecue in the Casey's parking lot at 3 p.m. with fireworks planned at 9:45 p.m.
-July 6: Summer Concert Series, Barnsley Gardens. 7-10 p.m. at the Tenth Tee. Performing: Scott Thompson and Peachtree Station as well as the Athens Horn Connection.
