SAC welcomes Chip Hood to Board of Directors

The Sexual Assault Center of Northwest Georgia is pleased to announce the addition of Chip Hood of ForEvergreen Professional Landscaping & Lawn Maintenance to its Board of Directors.

"We are so excited to welcome Chip to the SAC team," said Tannika Wester, president of the Board of Directors. "Even prior to his Board nomination, he was a great advocate in helping us recruit participants for our third annual Rome Celebrity Dance Challenge. My fellow Board members and I look forward to working with Chip to further the mission of the Sexual Assault Center, which is such an important resource in our community."

A native Roman, Hood graduated from Coosa High School in 1989 and went on to earn his biology degree from Augusta State College. After returning to Rome, he opened ForEvergreen Professional Landscaping & Lawn Maintenance Inc., which has been in operation for 15 years.

An active member of the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce, Hood is a member of the Executive Board of Directors, a graduate of Leadership Rome XXVI and served as co-coordinator of Leadership Rome XXIX. He is also economic development director for the Airport Commission, a member of the Boys & Girls Club of Northwest Georgia's Board of Directors, and chairman of the Boys & Girls Club's One Campaign. He and his wife, Beth, live in Armuchee with their children, Noah, 9; Braden, 7; and Katelyn, 4. They are members of First Baptist Church of Rome, where Hood is a deacon and stays involved with the youth program.

"I have always felt a need to give back to the community that has given so much to me," Hood said. "This opportunity is just another positive way for me to do that. I thank the Sexual Assault Center Board of Directors for giving me the opportunity to serve with them."
