Georgia Highlands appoints Jeff Davis as Interim VP for Finance

Media Release: Georgia Highlands College has chosen Jeff Davis, currently associate vice president at the University of North Georgia, to serve as GHC's acting vice president for finance and administration from May 1 to July 31.  He replaces Rob Whitaker, who leaves at the end of April for Georgia Southern University, where he has accepted the job of vice president of business and finance.
 
Davis heads up Facilities and Auxiliary Services at the four-campus UNG, which serves more than 15,000 students.  He also oversees plant operations and campus planning and development activities, including the campus master plan and $130 million in new construction projects.  Before coming to North Georgia, Davis worked for Radiant Systems, RaceTrac Petroleum, Somax Inc. and Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Corp.
 
As a resident of Dahlonega, he has served as commissioner for the Lumpkin County Planning Commission, president of Dahlonega Rotary and as a member of the boards of directors for United Way of Lumpkin County and theMethodist-affiliated Camp Glisson youth camp.
 
While Davis is at GHC, he will reside in Rome.  During his tenure, an official search will take place for a candidate to fill the position permanently.
