The University of Georgia Small Business Development Center offers "Starting a Business" class

(Media Release) The University of Georgia Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will present a seminar on "Starting a Business" in Rome on October 11th. An attendee from the August program said, "I wish I would have attended this class in 1997 when I started my previous business!"

Since lack of planning is one of the top reasons new businesses fail, attending this comprehensive seminar may be one of the most important decisions an entrepreneur makes prior to opening a business. The program is an essential first step for the launch of a successful business.

Topics for discussion include traits of successful entrepreneurs, market research, legal structures, estimating start-up costs and cash flow projection, financing alternatives, failure factors, and business planning. A detailed business start-up workbook and other handouts are provided.

The class will be held on Thursday, October 11th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the Georgia Power Auditorium, 800 Broad Street, Rome, Georgia 30161. The cost is $69. Partial scholarships are available for a limited time due to a community grant from Wells Fargo. Pre-registration is required: www.georgiasbdc.org/ce/rome. For more information on this class or the services offered by the Rome SBDC, please call 706-622-2006 or email stuck@georgiasbdc.org.
