(Media Release) Harry Brock has been appointed Chairman of the Heart of the Community Foundation Board of Governors for 2012-2013..
The "Heart of the Community Awards" recognition program is sponsored by Redmond Regional Medical Center and the Heart of the Community Foundation, Inc. to honor local citizens for their volunteer service to our community. Recipients of the award are honored at a black tie gala," An Affair of the Heart." The 27th annual event will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Forum.
Proceeds from the event will be designated for heart education and safety programs in the Rome and Floyd County community. Previously funded projects have included the Heart House for families of critically ill patients on the Redmond campus, AED units in public facilities in Rome, a Par fitness course at Ridge Ferry Park, a serenity garden at Redmond and exercise equipment at the Thornton Recreation Center in Armuchee.
Harry is a graduate of West Rome High School and received a B.S. in Commerce and Business Administration from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
He has attended several schools of Realty and is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser, a Georgia Real Estate Broker and currently is the owner of Appraisal Associates of Rome.
He has served many organizations in Rome including the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce, the Rome-Floyd County Development Authority, the Rome Downtown Development Authority, the Greater Rome Convention and Visitors Bureau, the YMCA, the Open Door Home and the Heart of the Community Foundation
He is married to the former Dawn Pitts of Rome and they have two children Bailey and Cooper.
