The 7 Hills 3 Rivers Adventure Race & Family Challenge on September 22

Think you have seen all of Rome? Think again! See the city like you have never seen it before during the Coosa River Basin Initiative – Redmond Regional Medical Center 5th Annual 7 Hills 3 Rivers Adventure Race and 2nd Annual Family Challenge.

The two races take participants on an urban wilderness adventure, utilizing Rome's riverside trail system, hidden wetlands and forests in the downtown area.

Adult racers will scale all seven of Rome's famous hills and paddle the three rivers on a course that covers five miles on foot, 11 miles by bike and four miles in canoes or kayaks.

The Family Challenge will take parent-child racing teams across six miles of river, riverfront trails and hidden wetlands in downtown Rome. The course includes a one-mile paddle, a one-mile run, a four-mile bike ride.

Participants should expect to get wet and muddy. The course includes crossings of creeks and rivers and a muddy slog through a swamp. Race teams will also face mystery events, including challenges involving moving bricks provided by General Shale and tires from OTR Wheel Engineering.

Racers may participate as solos, tandem or three-person teams. Children participating in the Family Challenge must be accompanied by at least one parent or other adult guardian.

Awards will be presented to the fastest finishers in each category.

Registration fees are $60 per person for the adult race and $37 per person for the Family Challenge. Fees increase by $10 after Sept. 5. Information, course descriptions and online registration details can be found at www.7Hills3Rivers.net
