700 fewer jobs in Floyd County last month vs. August 2010
-But first-time jobless claims drop by more than a third vs. July.
-State's jobless rate rises to six-month high.
-Regional career fair set for Sept. 22 at The Forum in Rome.

Big changes possible for Floyd County government:
-If Kevin Poe leaves as county manager for a similar post in Jackson County, it would add to what already looks like a lot of change in county government.

-Two commission seats are on the fall ballot and two other incumbents could be leaving to see other office, requiring political appointments and perhaps four commission seats on the 2012 ballot.
