-Four more years for Eddie Lumsden: With just a few precincts to count, Republican Eddie Lumsden will win a second four-year term as county commissioner. He took an early lead over Democrat Rick Garrett and it never got close. Results: Lumsden 14,707, Garrett 6,536 (69.2-30.7%). Story
-For Dempsey, third time charmed: No close calls for Katie Dempsey this time around as she cruises to a third term representing Greater Rome and House District 13. Results: Dempsey 6,120, Bonny Askew, 3,342 (64.5-35.3%) Story
-No Bartow backfire this time, Coomer takes District 14 House seat: In the August runoff, Christian Coomer lost his home turf, Bartow, to fellow Republican Shep Helton but won the race because of Floyd support. -Barry Loudermilk elected District 52 state senator: Based on overwhelming numbers from returns in Floyd and Gordon counties, state Rep. Barry Loudermilk will easily move to the Senate to fil the seat vacated by Preston Smith. Loudermilk faced Democrat Mike Burton in Floyd, Gordon and Bartow counties. -Rome's John Barge wins school superintendent post: A year ago, he was an unlikely candidate to survive a Republican primary with Kathy Cox. Today, he is her elected replacement, having won an improbable statewide race that even saw the governor endorsing an independent candidate. Results / Story

Phil Gingrey, just elected without opposition to his fifth term, share any leadership duties? New from Gingrey on GOP victory: "It is truly an honor to represent Georgia's 11th District and it is a privilege to have this opportunity for the next two years. Tonight, we are seeing the American people reject the big government policies of President Obama and Nancy Pelosi."

-SunTrust's Brad White named president of Gainesville, Fla., offices: Brad White, who's led SunTrust's local operations for five years, reports to the Gainesville, Fla., office on Monday as president. White, an avid Gator fan, has strong ties to that area and worked with SunTrust in Lake County before arriving in Rome as president. White has been active with business and civic groups during his time in Northwest Georgia. A successor has not been named for the Rome operations.
-Planned expansion, renovation at Redmond could be worth $30 million: John Quinlivan, Redmond Regional's new chief executive officer, will lead the hospital through a major renovation and expansion. "I expect that within the next month or two, we'll have a complete master plan that we'll be able to share with our board," he says. Included: A potential medical office building on Redmond's campus plus a "more modern facility, larger and better lit, the way modern hospitals look."
