Friday night scores: Big win for Pepperell, damaging loss for Rome

Northwest Georgia's Friday Night Scoreboard

Dragons finally put up a big win: Week six finally brings football weather and, with it, a solid performance from a Pepperell team that was seen as somewhat of a disappointment despite a .500 record (2-2). The Dragons ran away from Armuchee late in the game, finally putting the Indians away 42-27. Armuchee kept it tight, trailing only 28-21 as the game moved into the fourth. Pepperell punched two across in the final frame to wrap it up.

-Rome High was pounded by Creekview 51-14. The Wolves fall to 4-2 on the season and, with every game a region match-up, Rome needs to bounce back quickly after losing two in a row.

Other games included:

-Adairsville's 31-21 defeat of Coosa.
-Gilmer's 16-0 shut-out of Cedartown.
-Cartersville lost for the first time this season, falling to Allatoona 18-13.
-Rockmart easily handled Model, 41-14.
-Calhoun took care of cross-county rival Sonoraville 42-8.
-Northwest Whitfield finally got in the win column, stopping Cass 29-15.
-Trion picked up a big region win, dropping Bowdon 19-14.
-Darlington was off and will get back to region play next Friday night.
