"Too" is hopes to be "a toy wonderland and the hottest place in town to shop for the Christmas holiday." It takes over the former Trellis location. Click ... -Rome's David McLaughlin launches new sports webcast with former AJC writer Mike Tierney: Called Southern Sports Universe, the show covers college and pro sports in the South. It will be broadcast Thursday nights at 10 on Blog Talk Radio. Listens can catch the live broadcast or download a podcast. McLaughlin has been doing a political show, The Kudzu Vine, for several years on Blog Talk Radio. Show time! Seventh Rome International Film Festival begins today

Banners are up in the 700 block of Broad Street, welcoming festival guests to downtown Rome. Look for extra faces at retail, restaurant locations today and Saturday..
-By Saturday night, more than 70 films from 12 counties will have been seen at the DeSoto and Heritage Hall in downtown Rome as part of the 2010 Rome International Film Festival (click). You'll find a preview to RIFF on our Downtown Headlines page. Films will be shown beginning today at 11 a.m. and run both Friday and Saturday in two-hour increments at 11 a.m., 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11 p.m. You also can purchase tickets by clicking here.

-Sept. 10/Redmond Regional Medical Center is providing free meals to all rescue and recovery personnel from the police department, fire department, emergency medical services and active military on Friday in honor of Sept. 11. Participants can choose from breakfast served from 6:30-10 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. or dinner from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The meals will be served in the cafeteria at Redmond Regional as a thank you for the behind the scenes work, countless hours and passion that is put into their careers each day.
