-Mohawk Industries buys Wear-Dated: Calhoun's Mohawk Industries has purchased Wear-Dated fiber brand from Solutia. The deal excludes the Ultron fiber brand which remains part of Solutia> Floorbiz.
-Planning Commission to take up sign ordinance Thursday: Proposed changes to the sign law could bring out extra guests at Thursday's planning commission meeting. We're hearing talk of a meeting Tuesday with those opposing the idea. The meeting begins at 2:30 p.m. in the Sam King Room.> Agenda
-Key meeting for city's GE committee set for 3 p.m. Thursday: The committee, chaired by Commissioner Kim Canada, is set to review the status of GE's proposed land donation to the city; discuss developing a conceptual plan for the site; and review potential overall use. The meeting is in the caucus room.
