Turnout continues to be the mystery this primary day: Turnout predictions vary and perhaps some clues can be found in advance/absentee ballots already cast:
>In Floyd County: 633 early ballots cast in all, including 606 advance voters and 27 absentee. That's 1.45 percent of Floyd's 43,614 registered voters.
>In Bartow County: 2,880 early ballots, including 1,990 advance voters and 890 absentee, together representing 6 percent of Bartow's 47,961 registered voters. Bartow's ballot includes several high-stakes races (state House, prosecutor).
>In Gordon County: 1,619 early voters, including 1,158 advance voters, 340 "mail out" absentee ballots and 121 people who voted absentee prior to the start of advance voting. That's almost 6.8 percent of Gordon's 23,851 registered voters. Gordon has 10 state and local contested races on the ballots.
