Media updates/Big names taking AJC buyout packages? There's a list of AJC writers expected to accept buyout packages as the newspaper reduces the size of its newsroom. Some of the more familar names are on the unofficial list circulated among current and past staffers. Biggest hits could be in sports, business.

Discovery of getaway van means on-the-job learning for Berry students:

Classes don't begin at Berry College until Aug. 25 but some communication students already are on campus preparing for the new year. Their training went live Wednesday with the on-campus discovery of a U-Haul believed to have been the getaway vehicle in the armed robbery of the Shorter Avenue branch of Citizens First Bank earlier that morning. Yet another close call for a Rome Braves catcher
