Annual Rome Braves' check to Floyd County: $147,143.70

A marathon mob: Cole Miles (2) is mobbed by his Rome Braves teammates after scoring the winning run in a 14-inning marathon at State Mutual Stadium. The Braves are drawing 3,474 fans per game this season; the county profits from season ticket sales and not the overall crowd size each night. Details follow.

The contract that helped bring the Braves from Macon to Rome six seasons ago requires an annual payment from the team to the county. The 2008 check has been received by County Manager Kevin Poe; it breaks down this way:

>$123,857.70: The county's share of season ticket sales. Floyd gets a percentage of the 70-game ticket package sales. As in past years, the county received the maximum allowed under the contract.

>$8,286: Fee from stadium naming rights purchased by Rome-based State Mutual Insurance Co..

>$15,000: The team's' payment to the stadium's capital maintenance fund.

>The Braves keep revenue from parking, concessions and other ticket sales.
