>Injured deputy to return to duty: Floyd County sheriff's deputy Chase Holtzclaw, injured in an grinding accident in November, is scheduled to return to duty in a few days. Holtzclaw was critically injured in an accident and underwent extensive rehabilitation in recent months.
>Hooters aftermath: By 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Hooter's was empty. In the parking lot near Hicks Drive were remnants of the business: picnic tables, chairs, other items. A telling sign in the median: "Tuesday bike night at WOW" (bike nice was Tuesday at Hooters). The restaurant is due to open later this month in front of State Mutual Stadium. There are changes under way. With the restaurant now evicted, Etowah shopping center has a number of storefronts to fill, from the old Kroger to PetLand's spot to the Hooters site. "Pending" signs are on the Ledbetter site.
