Sellout crowd sees Smoltz throw two innings; he's due back Saturday

Smoltz hurls three strikeouts; returning for final rehab start

>Atlanta Braves pitcher John Smoltz played two innings with the Rome Braves vs. Asheville Tourists before a sellout crowd of 5,105 Thursday night. Smoltz posted three strikeouts and one hit before leaving at the end of the second inning. During a later news conference, the Braves announced Smoltz will pitch here again Saturday night before rejoining the Atlanta club. Smoltz received a huge reception from fans, including Micah Burgirino, a pitcher for the team of the night. Smoltz signed her cast prior to the game's start. Rome dropped the series opener, 3-2> Sports
