July 13: Buddy Bagley's annual motorcyle ride in memory of his beloved wife

Media release: Buddy Bagley is once again getting things in gear for his fourth annual motorcycle ride benefit. He's organized the yearly event in honor of his wife Darlene, who was waging a long-term battle with cancer. This year, the ride will be in memory of his beloved since she died on April 1.

This summer's Ride for Cancer Navigators is slated for Saturday, July 13.  Things get started at 9 a.m. with registration at Logtown on S. Main Street in Adairsville.

In addition to a morning of touring the area on motorcycles beginning at 10 a.m., the event will also feature food and drinks, door prizes and some auction items.

Registration is $20 per bike; $30 if you want a T-shirt. Passengers' cost is $10 each and includes food and drinks. Everyone who registers will get a chance to win a $50 gas card, and T-shirts will be on sale for $15 each to help the cause.

Bagley invites riders from all over the region to join in to help raise needed funds for the nonprofit that helps cancer patients by navigating them through their medical treatment, by connecting them to needed resources and by helping them deal with the stresses of cancer. Cancer Navigators serves patients from Floyd, Bartow, Polk, Chattooga and Gordon counties and surrounding communities.

He asks that folks pre-register so organizers know how many participants to expect. You can register by e-mail at abtransport2003@yahoo.com or by calling or texting Bagley at 770-313-8190.

"Even if you don't ride, please come out and support us," he said. "We want to help Cancer Navigators help families battling cancer and we want to honor the memory of our sweet Darlene. Please come help make this the most successful event ever."
