Rebekah Lowery, M.D., recieves the President's Award from Floyd Medical
Center's President & CEO Kurt Stuenkel, on Thursday at the Forum during
Floyd's Celebration of Service.
Media release: A Floyd employee was honored for 45 years of continuous,
full-time service at Floyd's annual Celebration of Service Thursday, while
two others were recognized for reaching 40 years.
The event honors employees celebrating milestone anniversaries, those with
distinguished professional achievements and members of teams and departments
that achieved outstanding results in the previous year.
Eloise Shelton, Surgical Services was honored for 45 years of service.
Charlotte Austin, Health Information Management and Margie Ammons, Polk
Medical Center Dietary, were each recognized for reaching the 40-year

Seven Floyd employees were honored with video tributes as 2012 Floyd Heroes:
Pam Camp, Andy Fairel, Stacey Henderson, Kathy Kean, Michael Motes, Jennifer
Puckett and Betty Treadwell. Heroes are Floyd employees who go above and
beyond their daily responsibilities by consistently exceeding the
organization's Service Standards and leading by example both at work and in
the community.
Rebekah Lowrey, M.D. received the President's Award at Floyd's annual
Celebration of Service Jan. 31.
Media release: The event honors employees celebrating milestone

The President's Award, selected by Kurt Stuenkel, president and CEO, and
awarded to an individual, department or team that has contributed
significantly to the organization's strategic initiatives, was awarded to
Rebekah Lowrey, M.D., Director of Surgical Services. Specifically, Stuenkel
cited Dr. Lowrey's humble leadership, and her passion for excellence in
honoring her with this award.
The Executive Team Award, selected by Floyd's executive leadership, was
awarded to Matt Gorman, Senior Project Manager. Gorman was recognized for
his leadership skills and outstanding efforts as interim Chief Information
Officer during the transition of Polk Medical Center.
The Floyd Physician of the Year, which is awarded to the Floyd physician who
has provided leadership, demonstrated outstanding support of the
organization and its mission, exhibited outstanding clinical skills and
provided compassionate patient care that goes well beyond expectations,
resulting in excellent patient satisfaction, was presented to Daniel
Robitshek, M.D., medical director for Floyd's Hospitalist program.
The Department of the Year, selected by the organization's department
directors, was awarded to Central Sterile Processing. Betty Kirtland,
Manager, accepted the award on behalf of the department.
The Physician Practice of the Year, which honors the Floyd physician
practice that achieves success by exhibiting outstanding performance in four
areas: quality measures, patient satisfaction, financial measures and
organizational support, was presented to Floyd Urgent Care in Summerville.
The recipient of the Patient Satisfaction Improvement Award, which goes to
the department with the greatest improvement in patient satisfaction scores,
as measured by Press Ganey Associates, over the past 12 months, was the
Medical Oncology department.
The recipient of the Patient Satisfaction Excellence Award, which goes to
the department with the highest patient satisfaction scores, as measured by
Press Ganey Associates, over the past 12 months, was awarded to The Palatine
Suites nursing unit.
