Feb. 26: African Children's Choir to perform at 10 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Rome.

Media release: The highly inspirational and entertaining African Children's Choir will perform at 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 26 at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Rome. The performance is free and open to the public, and a free-will offering will be taken to support the program.

The Children's Choir, a program of the Music For Life Institute (MFLI), raises global awareness of the plight of the millions of orphaned and abandoned children in Africa, and donations to the program directly benefit not only the efforts to support current Choir children but the thousands of other students and children they represent.

Music for Life Insititute's purpose is to help create new leadership for tomorrow's Africa by helping the most vulnerable children in Africa today. MFLI works in seven countries including Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan, Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa. Through its relief and developments programs, MFLI has educated more than 52,000 children and impacted the lives of more than 100,000 people since it began in 1984.

The performance is part of First Presbyterian's Missions Emphasis Week. The concert will be held in King Hall in the Christian Life Center, at 101 E. Third Avenue, Rome. For more information on the choir, visit www.africanchildrenschoir.com.
