Two Area Bands to be Featured at 2011 NAIA Football National Championship

Media release: Two Northwest Georgia marching bands will add to the
excitement of the 2011 Russell Athletic-NAIA Football National Championship,
which will be played Saturday, Dec. 17, at Barron Stadium in downtown Rome.

Returning for the second year is the Central of Carrollton "Lion Pride"
Marching Band. New for the 2011 game will be the Calhoun Marching Yellow
Jackets. The Central of Carrollton band is directed by Neil Ruby, and the
Calhoun High School band is directed by Michael Clark. Both bands have a
long tradition of excellence, having earned numerous awards at marching
competitions through the years.

"We are excited to bring two such fine marching bands to this year's
game," said Jim Williams, who heads the special events subcommittee of the
NAIA planning group. " Both bands have 200-plus members, and we know they
will bring great energy and excitement to the game. One band will represent
each team playing in the championship, and the bands have already been in
contact with the folks at Carroll College and St. Xavier University and are
working hard to learn their fight songs. We hope that the Northwest Georgia
community will come out to support them and the players who have worked so
hard to make it to this year's championship."

The 2011 NAIA championship game, which will be played Saturday, Dec. 17, at
4:30 p.m. at Barron Stadium, will feature the Fighting Saints of Carroll
College (Mont.) and the Cougars of St. Xavier University (Ill.). Carroll is
returning to Rome for the third time in four years, and St. Xavier will be
making its first-ever appearance at the national title game.

Tickets for the championship game are $25 each and are available for
purchase at The Forum by calling 706-291-5281 or 800-858-7601, or by
