More 'signs' of change at Shorter Uni .... College

Signs of Shorter College's switch to a

university status are popping up everywhere these days. A new sign at Midtown Crossing,  soon home to Shorter's business college, is up but under cover for a few more days.  Also, a new electronic sign in on the school's Shorter Avenue entrance. Among the messages: News of the switch to university status. Part of the university celebration includes a June 1 concert with Christian recording artists Rebecca St. James and Jonny Diaz. It begins at 6 p.m. at the Rome City Auditorium, 601 Broad St., with In Pursuit, a local band that includes Shorter student Drew Carroll, as the opening act. Diaz will take the stage at 6:30 p.m., followed by featured artist Rebecca St. James at 8 p.m. Advance tickets are $5 for students and $8 for adults. All tickets will be $10 at the door.
