Opi's update: 'we're open'

Opi's remains open at Waterfront site, Funk says:(Updated) Mel Funk says Opi's at River Crossing (Hawthorn Suites) is open for lunch and dinner today and this week even though vendors and others associated with the business say a change is pending. Funk says he's been harassed since opening about a year ago, especially after the format was changed to a "country saloon" with namesakes Buck & Duke. . Opi's MySpace page shows bands set to play there Friday and Saturday, with namesakes Buck & Duke due Nov. 20-21 as well. Opi's had a spot at Ga. 53 and 140, and then took over the idle Waterfront Grille & Bar in late 2008. Grand opening came just in time for Rome's annual Christmas parade. An Adairsville Opi's closed soon after and the Shannon location was hit by fire several weeks ago. Funk says it will take up to four months but he plans to reopen the "profitable" Shannon site. He says he also has plans to open several other restaurant concepts in the area
