  • 11 more deaths in NW Georgia posted Wednesday; 411 in all with another 41 'probable' deaths. Statewide, 137 more fatalities. Region reports 219 new positive results.
  • Rome Schools cancel in-person classes Friday because of COVID surge. Also: 1,192 students, staff in quarantine at Floyd, Rome schools. Floyd posts 10 more positive cases. Cartersville: 7 positive tests, 76 quarantined.
  • Vax Report: Local pharmacy says no more appointments after initial rush. Through Wednesday evening, Georgia has administered 283,177 vaccinations.
  • Business: Riverbend Off Broad quickly taking shape off Sixth Avenue near Federal Courthouse. Project brings 10 townhomes to downtown Rome.
  • Education: Georgia Highlands College has announced students named to the fall 2020 President's List and Dean's List.
  • The vote: Bartow 'risk audit' of runoff 'demonstrates that our voting system accurately counted the results' of the election.
