Today's first headlines:

  • 2 more deaths posted Saturday, both in Floyd. 120 new cases in NW Georgia; another 3,717 in the state. 108 hospitalized in Rome.
  • COVID on campus: Floyd County sees increase in quarantines; Rome sees increase and 9 new positive cases. Cartersville: 6 students, 1 staff test positive, 99 quarantined.
  • Business: Olea Olive Oil & Wines coming to Rome's Broad Street in January. Offerings to also include teas, honey and kitchen wood items.
  • Voting: U.S. Senate debates today. Monday is last day to register to vote in Jan. 5 runoff. Advance voting at two spots starting Dec. 14.
  • Health: Flu continues to be mild with just 6 hospitalization so far since end of September, no deaths. Still time to get flu shot before Christmas.
