  • Business: TEKLAS, a Turkish R & D company and supplier of electric vehicle parts, opening $6.5 million campus in Calhoun, hiring 120.
  • Business: Nearly $170 million in new projects along the 'Berry Corridor' capped off with groundbreaking for Fairfield Inn & Suites near tennis center.
  • Dining: Legends Cafe & Grill sets grand opening for Friday. West Rome spot offers wings, burgers, 2-for-1 margaritas, sweet potato pie -- and a ping pong table. 'The Mooch' (Armuchee Cafe) due Saturday.
  • Education: State graduation rate at 83.8% but local systems cruise by that: 100% in Calhoun, 94.6% in Floyd County, 93% at Rome, 91.2% at Bartow County.
  • 16 Floyd County Schools' students to advance in the Governor's Honors Program selection process.
  • COVID on campus: 17 positive cases within Floyd Schools Tuesday; 329 in quarantine. Rome Schools: quarantines drop to 137. Cartersville: 3 positive tests, 43 quarantines.
  • 51st Gordon resident dies; 270 in region; now 10 'probable' deaths. 109 new cases in NW Georgia Tuesday. 61 hospitalized at Floyd, Redmond. Only Calhoun test site open today, Veterans Day.
