Hometown Headlines Radio Edition, 7-9 a.m. weekdays, WRGA 98.7 FM

7:10 a.m. Veeka Malanchuck and Reid Owens, both from Darlington. Veeka is a Darlington junior participating in the school's Global Studies Program and one of 17 students nationwide and the only one from Georgia to be selected to go to Moldova this summer as a participant in the National Security Language Initiative for Youth. Owens, one of Veeka's mentors, is a Spanish instructor at Darlington with an interesting background in international travel and service.
 
7:40 a.m. Mandy Perry of Blood Assurance Rome joins us to talk about the recent blood shortage crisis and to look at summer needs -- and how you can help.
 
8:10 a.m. We start our high school graduation interviews today. First up: Darlington. Annabelle Braden (a day student) of Silver Creek and Omar Hamad, a four-year boarding student from Dharan, Saudi Arabia. Annabelle is head day prefect of Thornwood House and Omar is head resident prefect of Moser House.
 
8:40 a.m. Dr. Jonathan Parker, religion and philosophy professor at Berry College, joins us to talk about his son, Isaac, who has interned with the radio edition all week.
