Hometown Headlines Radio Edition, 7-9 a.m. weekdays, WRGA 98.7 FM, streaming.

Today, 7:40-8:30 a.m.  Education tax pros and cons: Dr. John Jackson, superintendent of Floyd County Schools, and Lou Byars, superintendent of Rome City Schools, will join us. The superintendents have asked to join us under the conditions that the interview is not designed to "promote" the tax. This will be a news interview with the superintendents addressing up to $80 million in projects proposed for funding by extending the current one-penny sales tax. The interview will address the specifics of each project and all the questions that have been asked about each. Only the superintendents will join us in studio and on-air.

Friday: Special purpose tax pros and cons, the subject of a special two-segment Hometown Headlines Radio Edition on WRGA. Floyd County Manager Jamie McCord and Rome City Manager Sammy Rich will join us from 7:40 until 8:30 a.m, on the Hometown Headlines Radio Edition on WRGA 98.7 FM and online at wrga.streamon.fm. The SPLOST proponents have asked to join us under the conditions that the interview is not designed to "promote" the tax. This will be a news interview with the guests addressing up to $63.8 million in projects proposed for funding by extending the current one-penny sales tax.
