Rome International Festival coming April 6

Rome International Festival


Saturday, April 6, 11:00am-3:00pm


Bridgepoint Plaza, Historic Downtown Rome


 

The festival will feature International displays, music, food, and kids' crafts, arts, and games – you can find all that and even more without having to leave Rome.


Food samples this year will represent the traditions of Rome folks from Colombia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Salvador, Kurdistan, Japan, Italy, and Russia.  For those who may be less venturesome there will be New Orleans pralines and beignets, jambalaya, snowballs, Quaker cookies, African-American pinto beans and cornbread, or American hotdogs.


Entertainment while you eat will include Rome's Steel Drum Band, Mountaintop Djembe Drummers, and guest Japanese style Taiko drummers.  There will also be Chilean, Mexican, and Middle Eastern (Belly) dancing.  Spring into Peace will lead peace games and art for young and old   Also hear world music by Miwase..


Admission is free, with a small charge for food samples.
