May 11: The 23rd edition of Up the Creek Without a Pedal swt

Media release: The Coosa Valley Cycling Association invites you to come enjoy one of Northwest Georgia's "must do" rides on May 11th in Rome, GA. The ride offers 28, 42, 60, & 101 mile route options, all on scenic rural roads with very little traffic. All routes, except the 28 mile, will take riders through the "Pocket area" on one of the "best cycling roads in Georgia."

The 28, 42, and 60 mile routes are mostly flat to gently rolling with a few moderate hills. The century route includes a short climb over Little Sand Mt. The climb can be omitted and result in approximately 95 miles.

All routes are fully sagged with well-stocked rest stops approximately every 15-18 miles. Tech support, Ham radio operators, medical, and police support will provide a safe ride for all participants.

The start and finish will be at Armuchee High School where riders will be treated to indoor restrooms, showers, light breakfast, and post-ride pasta meal. Dri-balance T-shirts will be given to all pre-registered riders and to other riders while available.

Participants may register by downloading a form from www.cvca.org or by registering on www.Active.com. Riders who register by April 1st will only pay $30, but the price increases to $40 after April 1. On site registration will be available the day of the event.

Beneficiaries of the ride include: Armuchee High School Touchdown Club, Boy Scout Troop #56, T.R.E.D(local trails), and local charities.
