All U.S. presidents since 1955 have signed proclamations urging U.S. citizens to celebrate and inform communities about the U.S. Constitution. Friends of the Constitution in Rome has now taken up that banner.
The festival will feature singing, dancing, games, prizes, civic servant awards, merchandise & food vendors, and educational booths with a wealth of information about the Constitution. Georgia State Senator Barry Loudermilk and Congressman Tom Graves will be the featured speakers. There will also be a Scavenger Hunt for constitutional facts from each booth with prizes for those completing the challenge.
Cash prizes will be awarded to winning essayists from Floyd County in four different age categories!
Admission is FREE and there is free parking in the Fourth and Sixth Avenue Decks, as well as in the Carnegie Lot behind City Auditorium.
Two 45 minute programs will take place during hours of noon to 1:00 pm, and from 2:00 to 3:00 pm.
