Artists sought for second-annual holiday art market

(Media Release) Drawing from successful numbers last year, the Winter Art Market returns to the Rome Civic Center to open the coming holiday season.  The second-annual event will take place December 1-2, featuring artists and authors from around the state of Georgia.

The market is sponsored by the Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Last Stop Gift Shop.

"We are very excited about our next art market, and look forward to sharing with our customers the wealth of talent that we have here in the state," said Charlene Mathis, gift shop manager.

All artists and crafters, from fine painters to makers of local food products are encouraged to apply for the show.

"We want a great diversity of art and products at the show—the only requirement is that it's created and produced in Georgia," said Mathis.

New to the Winter Art Market will be raffles for prizes from art market vendors, in addition to voting for your favorite booth at the event.

The market will be open on Saturday, December 1 from 10am to 6pm and on Sunday, December 2 from 12pm to 5pm. The artists will host prominent community members on Friday evening during a private, VIP reception.
