The CRC will be in the Blue Bird Wing of Redmond Regional and will be staffed by certified volunteers who proactively reach out to patients and caregivers at the facility and arrange to meet them one-on-one to provide support.
"Our goal is to end the days of there being an unnecessary disconnect between patients and the countless free services and programs available to them," declares Lindsi Pearson, Area Executive Director for the American Cancer Society. "We now have the ability to prevent patients from being diagnosed and then going home feeling overwhelmed, scared and alone. This on-site program is a gateway to providing the much needed personal assistance and information those patients need."
Patients will now have immediate access to free programs and services needed whether it is a ride to treatment, a free wig for a chemotherapy patient, financial assistance or help through the many support services. Programs and assistance are not limited to patients, as there are many resources available to the caregiver.
