May 29: Library's summer reading program begins

Media release: The 2012 Summer Reading Program, "Dream Big - Read" will begin on Tuesday, May 29 at the Rome-Floyd County Library. Free goody bags will be given to the first 1,000 registrants. Temporary tattoos will be available to children participating in the program. A children's used book sale will be held throughout the week. Lee Bryan, a talented puppeteer, will present The Giant, the Beanstalk and Jack at 10:00 a.m. Todd Keye, an unbelievable juggler will perform at 2:00 p.m. Lieberman Family Chiropractic will be present throughout the day with consultations and goodies. Contests, workshops, Toddler time, Storyhour and additional programs are all part of this program. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. and continue through Friday, July 19.

"Own the Night" a program for upcoming 6th grade through 12th grade students will also begin on Tuesday, May 29. This program includes an internet and reference hunt, a photo contest, a quilting class and a cooking workshop. Goodies are awarded to participants who read.
