Based in the Georgia DOT District Office in Cartersville, Comer will be responsible for all construction and maintenance activities in Northwest Georgia.

"I am confident that our District Office and the people we serve in Northwest Georgia will greatly benefit from DeWayne's background and experience."
DeWayne began his career at Georgia DOT in 1990. He has held several positions ranging from Transportation Engineer I, and Design Engineer III, to Preconstruction Engineer and Assistant District Engineer. A graduate of Coosa High School, and Southern College of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Technology, DeWayne also possesses a Professional Engineer license. DeWayne has designed numerous roadway projects in District Six as well as throughout the State of Georgia. He has been employed with the Department of Transportation for 22 years. He worked in the General Office in Atlanta for the Office of Urban Design and the Office of Road and Airport Design for nearly 10 years. He has been in the Cartersville District Office for the past 12 years.
DeWayne, his wife Tammy, and their three children, Lindsey, Amy and Carly are lifelong residents of Floyd County. DeWayne has a one year old grandson, Daylon.
