Fw: Exchange Club of Rome begins tribute to American Veterans and Proudly We Hail on Monday, Nov. 7

Media release: The Exchange Club of Rome's Americanism Committee, working through the Proudly We Hail subcommittee, will lend to the citizens of Rome and Floyd County again this year an exact replica of the Star Spangled Banner flag that flew over Ft. McHenry in 1814 and inspired Francis Scott Key to write the poem that has become our national anthem.

The flag measures 30 feet by 42 feet and will be displayed in front of the Law Enforcement Center, on the building's façade facing Fifth Avenue and the County Courthouse, on Monday, November 7, at 9:30 am.  This will begin the Exchange Club's tribute to  American Veterans and "Proudly We Hail" this year.

The Proudly We Hail program is an Exchange Club program that honors Americans who display the nation's banner properly and regularly.  It attempts to encourage all Americans to proudly fly the American flag outside their home or businesses as evidence of their love and respect for this nation.

Exchange, America's Service Club, is a group of men and women working together to make our communities better places to live through programs of service in Americanism, Community Service, Youth Activities, and its national project, the Prevention of Child Abuse.

The Exchange Club of Rome meets every Friday at noon at the Palladium on the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds.
