Deadline Friday for hotel bids on West Third (Marriott?). Cabela's picks W. Va.; Emerson rumor lingers. 40% rain chance today. Chiaha countdown begins.

Keep an eye on what happens with West Third on Friday:
-By 3 p.m., we should know the next great plan for the redeveloping West Third Street corridor. If past reports and wish lists are part of the equation, we'll hear about a group planning to build a 120-room full service hotel. And don't too surprised to hear the name "Courtyard by Marriott" in the mix.

Cabela's looks south again -- but still way north of us ... for now, at least:
-Cabela's will open in mid-2012 in Charleston, W.Va. But murmurs continue about a venue much closer to home.

2011 Chiaha already has 120 artists signed up:
-The Chiaha Harvest Festival expects 120 guest artists at the annual fall celebration set for 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Oct. 22 and 23.
