Cave Spring Community Focus events, Oct. 13-14

 
 

 

 Oct. 13:

7:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m.        Coffee with Cave Spring Council Members and Floyd County Commissioners.  Join your local elected officials for a meet & greet at Creekside Restaurant.

 

10:00 a.m. Yard of the Day – The Yard of the Day with members of Keep Rome Floyd Beautiful – this award will be presented to a well-maintained yard in the Cave Spring area.  The award includes a basket containing a $25 gift certificate along with many other prizes.

 

Lunch at the Georgia School for the Deaf  - 11:45 a.m.

 

Emergency Preparedness Presentations (Code Red text sign-up) to students by Floyd County Emergency Management Members and Delana Hickman, librarian with the Sarah Hightower Regional Library.

 

1st presentation to elementary classes – 12:45 (Puppet Show by Rome Floyd County Children's Department)

 

2nd presentation to middle school classes – 1:45

 

3rd presentation to high school classes – 2:50

 

 6–8:00 p.m. Cave Spring Community Center (10 Georgia Avenue).  Join us for a hot-dog dinner and live music.  Citizens of Cave Spring will have the opportunity to hear from and ask questions of Floyd County officials Blaine Williams - Assistant County Manager; Bill McWhorter - Chief Tax Assessor; Michael Skeen - Public Works Director; and others.

Friday, October 14                          10:00 am to 2:00 pm

 

8:30 a.m. Tree Board projects at Cave Spring Elementary School with remains of trees from front lawn that were blown down in the April storms.

1-3 p.m. – Cave Spring History Exposed!  Visit local historians at the Cave Spring Library to catch up on recent developments in Cave Spring's exciting history.

 

 

Saturday, October 15            9:00 am to 2:00 pm

 

Free Dump Day – Cave Spring Elementary Parking Lot – no tires or hazardous materials accepted.
