-A lot of handshakes were exchanged -- again and again -- at The Forum Tuesday morning as local government leaders, professional staff and executives from Lowe's corporate moved a giant leap closer to finalizing a deal to bring 600 jobs to the region.
-A significant package of incentives has been assembled and now blessed by local governments to help entice the company to a large tract assembled in the northeast corner of Ga. 53 and 140.
-What's next: formal approval from Lowe's. The basic outline of the deal met with quick acceptance from the retailer's board of directors. Now the final deal needs to be signed, something that should occur within the next few weeks. Once done, look for the two-year build-out to get under way.
