Realtors in Greater Rome sold 56 single-family residences last month with a combined value of $6.9 million or an average price of $123,471. That's down from 73 homes sold in March 2010, with overall sales of $8.8 million or $120,809 per home.
-The caveat: The March 2010 sales were spurred, in part, by federal and state tax incentives for first-time homebuyers.
-Also, the March report shows a nearly 70 percent increase in sales vs.just 33 homes in February 2011.
-Debbie Hayes of Hardy Realty, president of the Greater Rome Board of Realtors, says April looks promising with 66 home sales pending with a combined value of $7.4 million.
