-Seven Hills Fellowship Church is moving forward with expansion plans following the purchase of 538 Broad St., the former home of The White Rabbit. The church, which holds services at the DeSoto Theatre, recently bought the prime piece of real estate on the corner of Sixth Avenue and Broad Street from Martin's Real Estate for $535,000. Pastor Bryan Pierce said the church has contracted with architect Mark Cochran to complete plans for the remodeling. "He is now putting together the layout and should be complete in a couple of weeks. Once we have our plans, we'll get bids from local construction groups. I anticipate we'll start renovations in early April," he said. The church is adding bathrooms, a kitchen and nursery. Much of the downstairs will be used for community events, concerts, movie nights and meetings. Pierce hopes the facility will be ready for use in July or August. In the meantime, the church will begin using some of the upstairs office space. -- By Natalie Simms
