Rome's business buzz: Magnolia Market expands hours, offerings. Riverside Professional Park growing. Fast food crunch in Rome? Rain tonight.

Business Buzz:

-Magnolia Market expands hours, services: Magnolia Market butcher shop is now open from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. And starting Oct. 18, the shop at 1409 Kingston Highway is offering Boar's Head sandwiches made to order.  Click Magnolia Market.

-Riverside Professional Park continues to add dental care offices:

-The most successful development yet near State Mutual Stadium since the Rome Braves' arrival in 2003 continues to grow. Dr. Bob Hunt, an oral surgeon, is moving to the rising professional park off the Bypass near Riverside Parkway and Chatillion Road, according to Garden Lakes Realty Co. Construction will begin soon. Riverside already is home to Dr. Michael Blackmon (general dentist), Doctors Sam Mumpower and Jack Smith (endodontics) and Dr. Lee Fletcher (periodontist). The new offices of Dr. Ben Knaak (general dentist) should be ready by late fall. Riverside offers ready-to-build lots, finished parking lot, completed engineering and planning, and an owners association for external maintenance. Details: 706-234-9421.

-Face lift begins at East Rome's Taco Bell:

You'll have to wait a little longer in line for that new big chalupa. While the new West Rome Taco Bell is still weeks away, the East Rome location is drive-through only as renovations continue.

-Fast food crunch?: With the twin Taco Bell situation, two local Arby's closed and a Waffle House (Turner McCall) and Wendy's (Martha Berry) still recovering from fires, there's something of a fast-food . . . slim down? ... in Greater Rome.

-Broad Street Station closing? That's the word on Facebook this afternoon. We just talked to the owners who said the report "was par for the course" and added, "We're not running any news stories on it." The business opened earlier this year at 425 Broad St. in the spot most recently home to Peach Palace.
