Harbin's Cancer Center quickly coming together in Rome. John McClellan's high school football picks for Northwest Georgia. Latest business updates. 60% chance of rain

Harbin Clinic's Cancer Center quickly coming together

Harbin Clinic's new Cancer Center is rapidly coming together at the corner of Second Avenue and West Fifth Street between Floyd Medical Center and Barron Stadium. Work was continuing Monday just hours after a soggy storm system sloshed through Greater Rome. The target opening date is next April and the goal is to make the three-story, 55,000-square-foot building " the destination for patient-focused cancer care and support services," according to previous medical releases. Among the tenants: The Breast Center at Floyd Medical Center. The Breast Center recently received a $105,000 check from the FMC Auxiliary. Most of the cancer center's exterior work is expected to be completed by the time CBS College Sports' cameras arrive to show live coverage of the NAIA National Championship Game Dec. 18 at Barron Stadium.
