Still no deal on reported Publix at Hight Homes site

This picture, taken Wednesday from the 333 Physicians Building adjacent to Floyd Medical Center, shows demolition work continuing at Hight Homes off Turner McCall.

Our latest check with Publix Super Markets Inc. on Monday produced the same thing: still nothing on paper within the Atlanta division showing any store in Greater Rome. New stores are now on the list for Macon and Columbus, says Publix representative Brenda Reid, but nothing has popped up on a Rome location. Madison Retail LLC is advertising for clients at the site of the former Hight Homes across from Floyd Medical Center and lists a large grocer as an anchor store. Developers are telling local leaders Publix will be that anchor.
