Wednesday updates

Warm greeting for Rome Braves from chilled, yet thrilled fans

The above image from Rome photographer Mills Fitzner gives you a first look at the 2009 Rome Braves, who travel to Charleston, S.C., to open the season Thursday. Below: Two fans move out from the reception area to seats in storied section 206 to watch the newly formed team practice on the field at State Mutual. Temperatures were in the mid-40s with a wind chill probably 10 degrees cooler than that Tuesday evening.
