Updates from www.hometownheadlines.com:
The state's record-high jobless rate of 8.6 percent in January was enough evidence of how dicey times are in Georgia. Now comes the hard evidence: state revenue collections were down more than a third--34.8 percent--compared to the same year in 2009. Net revenue collections in February were $629,448,000 compared to $965,846,000 for February 2008, a decrease of $336,398,000. The percentage decrease year-to-date for fiscal year 2009 vs. FY08 is 7.3 percent.
